An electric start to the match, showing attacking intent and energy from the opening whistle. Their fast-paced approach quickly paid off as they raced into a deserved 2–0 lead with goals from John O Hara and Captain Oisin O Connor, putting the visitors under early pressure and giving the home supporters plenty to celebrate.

With confidence high, the home team continued to press forward and looked in control for much of the opening period. However, the visitors gradually found their rhythm and began to respond, making the most of their opportunities to pull the score back level before turning the momentum in their favour.

The second half saw the visitors grow stronger, while the home side struggled to maintain the intensity of their blistering opening. A further goal from the visitors put them in front, before they added a fourth to complete a remarkable turnaround. Kanturk had a couple of late opportunities to level the score but it wasn't to be.

Despite the disappointing result, the home side showed plenty of attacking promise and can take encouragement from the way they started the game. The final score, 4–2 to the visitors, ultimately reflected a match in which the home team’s early advantage was overturned by a determined second-half performance from the away side.

The home side will be left wondering what might have been after such a promising opening, but there were certainly positives to build on ahead of the next fixture
