The girls entertained Blarney on Sunday 20th Sept in Gurteenard. Kanturk struck early with a great strike into the corner from Katie Hourigan. They made it two soon after when the excellent Clodagh Nic Carthiagh was pulled down and Katie Hourigan dispatched the penalty. The girls were comfortable but conceded a sloppy goal just before half time to leave the score at 2-1. Kanturk regained their two goal advantage ten minutes into the second half when Meabh O Keeffe scored a debut goal following up a rebound from a Cara Morgan shot. Just when Kanturk were looking comfortable more sloppy defending allowed Blarney to strike twice in quick succession to level the game at 3 all. To the girls credit they responded instantly when a fabulous through ball by Nessa Rahilly sent Katie Hourigan through to complete her hat trick. Katie capped a remarkable performance and the win with her 4th goal of the game five minutes from time to seal a 5-3 victory.
