The U16 girls made the trip to Bandon on Sunday morning for a League game. With only 12 players available it was always going to be a tough task. Kanturk showed no shortage of commitment in the early stages and their first real opening fell to Cara Morgan who seen her effort saved brilliantly by the Bandon goalkeeper. The score remained nil all at half time. The girls came out strong at the start of the second half and began getting their passing game going. Ten minutes in the ball fell to Nida Vaivade who produced a snapshot from the edge of the area into the corner to give Kanturk the lead. The girls began playing with more freedom and after passing up a couple of good opportunities, they finally found the 2nd goal. Zara Murphy cut loose down the left wing and squared the ball for Nida Vaivade to score her second of the game. Bandon pulled one back in injury time but Kanturk held firm to take home the three points. Thanks to everyone for their support. Well done all 👏
