U11 Match Review:
Riverstown U11 v Kanturk AfFC U11
Date Saturday 28th March
Kanturk making the bow in Division 5 after the winter break played out a Hard-Fought Goalless Draw
It was a tightly contested match this weekend as the U11s battled to a 0–0 draw in a game defined by strong teamwork, and determination from both sides.
From the first whistle, the team showed great energy and focus. The team was outstanding throughout, staying well-organised and communicating effectively to limit the opposition’s chances. Whenever the pressure built, the goalkeeper stepped up with a series of confident saves, keeping the score level and boosting the team’s confidence.
In midfield, there was excellent effort and work rate. Players tracked back to help defensively while also trying to move the ball forward with quick passes and smart positioning. Although clear-cut chances were limited, the team showed good intent going forward and created a few promising moments hitting the crossbar twice and the post once, just missing that final touch in front of goal.
Up front, the attackers worked tirelessly, pressing the opposition and looking for openings. Their movement and determination made it difficult for the opposing team to settle, even if the breakthrough goal never came.
Overall, it was a positive performance with plenty of encouraging signs. A clean sheet is always something to celebrate, and the teamwork and resilience on display were excellent. With a bit more composure in the final third, this team will be turning draws into wins in no time.
