KANTURK AFC U13A Boys
The boys opened their account for the season having been promoted up by two divisions with a tough away game at Midleton B. In horrible conditions with constant lashing rain the team battled hard for a 3-3 draw.
After going behind early on Jamie continued where he left off last season with a well worked goal to make it 1-1. Jamie struck again soon after to put the Turks 2-1 ahead. However Midleton responded well and fought back with two further goals to finish half time 3-2 ahead.
Changes to positions were made at half time and the boys responded brilliantly with solid defending, great closing down and really tightened up across the whole pitch. With the rain still pouring Ethan broke free to strike a shot that evaded the keeper in the soaking conditions to make it 3-3. Both teams pressed hard to find a winner but the game finished in a well deserved draw.
Special mention for our two debutants Noah and Billy who both played really well in their first competitive start for the team. Also congratulations to the players who then hurried back to Kilbrin for the Croke Rovers hurling match which they won to take them into the league final!
Finally a mention to all those parents that made the long journey to support the boys and endured the horrendous weather. Your support makes a huge difference.
