First Win of the Season!
The boys got their season up and running with a fantastic first win of the campaign, delivering a determined and committed performance from start to finish.
From the opening whistle, the players showed great energy, teamwork and a real desire to get the result. Everyone played their part, working hard for each other, creating opportunities and showing resilience when challenged.
Our first goal came from left midfield when Alan walsh lobbed the keeper, this set us on our way, Great Saves by Luke Parnis in goal kept us at 1- Springfield battled hard and got there reward when a mix up in our defence left them in to make it 1-1. Our boys knuckles down and not to be outdone James O Sullivan playing on the right scored the turks second assissted by Alan walsh.. As the half wore on our boys concentration lapsed and back came Springfield to equalise, 2-2 at half time..
The turks came out with renewed vigour in the second half and put Springfield under enormous pressure, it looked like it was going to be one of those days until James O Sullivan took a speculative shot the squirmed under the Springfield keeper. With backs to the wall defending our boys saw out the game to claim there first win of the season...
The hard work paid off to secure a well-deserved victory. There were plenty of positives to take from the game, with the players demonstrating the effort, attitude and togetherness needed to build momentum for the matches ahead.
This first win is a great reward for the team's commitment and provides a confidence boost as the season continues. There is still plenty of work to do, but this is an excellent step in the right direction.
A great team effort, a deserved first win, and hopefully the first of many this season!
