Kanturk AFC U17s 7–1 Carrigtwohill
21/03/26

Kanturk AFC U17s made the trip to Carrigtwohill on a warm and sunny afternoon, earning an impressive 7–1 victory after a strong all-round performance.

Carrigtwohill started brightly, dominating the opening 10 minutes with sustained pressure and creating several chances. However, Kanturk weathered the early storm and began to find their rhythm. On the 11th minute, Sean Flynn broke the deadlock to give Kanturk a 1–0 lead.

Kanturk grew in confidence, and Colm Cronin doubled the advantage soon after. Just before half-time, Sam McCarthy added a third with a fine strike, sending Kanturk into the break 3–0 up.

Carrigtwohill responded early in the second half, pulling a goal back to make it 3–1. However, Kanturk quickly regained control in unusual fashion—Aaron McCarthy took a free kick from just inside his own goalkeeper area, and the ball bounced all the way into the Carrigtwohill net to restore the three-goal cushion.

Kanturk continued to press and were rewarded with further goals. Colm Cronin added his second of the game, followed quickly by a goal from U16 player Callum Thompson, making it 6–1.
Just before the final whistle, Sean Flynn  with a superb solo effort to cap off a dominant display and seal a 7–1 win.

A big thanks to the U16 players—Callum Thompson, Oisin Mernagh, Milosz Florczak, and Tadhg Corrigan —for their contribution on the day, as well as Richard Mernagh for his support on the sideline.
