Kanturk got off to a lightning quick start as Milosz Florczak slipped the ball through to Callum Thompson who fired it home with only 2 minutes gone. 2 minutes after that Callum turned provider for Oisin Mernagh who neatly finished to make it 2-0.
Avondale battled back and Kanturk had to settle for that as a half time score.
A midfield battle ensued with no goals being scored or conceded.
It was fully 20 minutes in when a long ball out of defence was latched onto by Conor O’Dea who quickly passed it on to Ryan Finn who slotted it into the corner.
Almost immediately Avondale pulled one back.
But a long range free kick taken Milosz beat the Avondale keeper. In quick succession a 3 goal lead became 4, when Ryan again found the back of the net for his second goal.
Avondale to their credit didn’t let their heads drop, pulled a goal back and fought to the end.
