Kanturk AFC U16s delivered a top-class performance at home, securing an impressive 3–0 victory over Strand Utd in a crucial clash between the top two sides.

Knowing it was a must-win game that could prove decisive in the title race, Kanturk started brightly and took control early on. Their strong start paid off after 10 minutes when Callum Thompson played a superb through ball to Ryan Finn, who finished confidently to give the home side a 1–0 lead.
Kanturk continued to apply pressure and were unlucky not to extend their lead before halftime, with Strand struggling to contain their attacking threat.

The visitors came out fighting in the second half, but Kanturk’s defence stood firm. Tadgh Corrigan, Oisin Aherne, Bryan Quirke, and Tadgh O’Connor produced an excellent defensive display, dealing with everything that came their way.
Kanturk doubled their advantage when Paddy Hickey reacted quickest to a breaking ball from a corner, volleying it cleanly to the net for 2–0. In midfield, Milosz Florczak and Fionn Bourke worked tirelessly, closing down space and driving the team forward.
The home side capped off a fantastic performance in style when Callum Thompson beat three defenders before calmly slotting the ball home for a brilliant solo goal to make it 3–0.

A special mention goes to Aaron Breen in goal, who was outstanding throughout, making several key saves to keep a clean sheet.
A superb team performance from Kanturk, and credit to Strand Utd for making the trip and contributing to a great game.
