A beautiful evening in Gurteenard for an U12 Albert Conboye Founders Cup match between hosts Kanturk vs Grenagh AFC. 

The green stripes were out of the blocks in a flash and took an early lead when Jack Gayer opened the scoring with a neat finish on 2 mins.

This set the tone for the first half and the Kanturk boys peppered the Grenagh goal with some fine play between our midfield four and lone striker, Scott Scannell proving a handful.

Conan Drew opened his account on 22mins with a smart finish, and it was Scott who embellished the scoreline with two excellent finishes before halftime, to leave it 4-0 to the boys in green.

Playing against a stiff breeze in the 2nd half they was no let up from our boys. They got just reward on 39mins when Grenagh unfortunately put the ball in their own net to make it 5 without reply.

The scoring didn't end there tho, Scott grabbed a fantastic treble on 55mins to complete his hattrick, before finally Conan rounded out the scoring on 58 to make it 7-1 on the night to the Kanturk boys. 

Can I take this opportunity to thank all the boys for their efforts tonight, each of them should be immensely proud of all their commitment to the cause.
